In Got Five!, five numbered tiles sit on your rack for everyone at the table to see — everyone, that is, except you. Your opponents can read your numbers at a glance. You cannot. And yet you must be the first player to correctly identify all five of them.

This is the devilishly clever puzzle at the heart of Got Five! — a fast-playing logic and deduction game designed by Yoann Levet that turns hidden information on its head. Instead of keeping secrets from your opponents, you're keeping secrets from yourself.

How It Works

On your turn you take two actions. First, you reveal a tile from the central supply — its number is announced and becomes public knowledge, which every player can use to refine their deductions. Then you ask a neighbour for one of two types of clue:

Sort — choose a face-up tile and ask your neighbour to place it in the sorting zone on your rack, showing you exactly where it falls relative to your five hidden tiles in ascending order. Is it smaller than all of them? Between the second and third? Larger than the lot?

Compare — hold a tile above one of your hidden tiles and ask your neighbour whether the two tiles have the same number of dots (one, two, or three). A simple yes or no — but a vital data point.

Round by round, clue by clue, the picture slowly sharpens. You cross off possibilities on your dry-erase tracking board, pencil in what you know, and quietly build toward the moment you're confident enough to call it.

When you think you have them all, shout "Got Five!" — then name your five numbers in ascending order. Guess them all correctly and you win immediately. Guess wrong on even one and you're eliminated. The stakes are real, the tension is palpable, and the satisfaction of a perfect deduction is deeply earned.

The Details

Designed for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up, Got Five! plays in around 15 minutes — fast enough to play multiple rounds back to back, with the dry-erase components making reset effortless. The 60 uniquely numbered tiles span five colours and display one, two, or three dots, giving the Compare clue its elegant mathematical texture. Every game is different; every deduction is your own.
