Bright Box 4: Preschooler Problem Solving & School Readiness

Ages: 3–5 years

During the preschool years, children develop the cognitive, language, and social skills that prepare them for school and structured learning environments. They begin recognizing words, solving problems, following directions, and understanding emotions more clearly.

Bright Box 4 was curated with guidance from Speech-Language Pathologist Lauren Reznick to support these important school-readiness milestones. The toys and activities in this box encourage critical thinking, memory, early literacy, and emotional awareness.

Through hands-on play and interactive learning, children strengthen attention, reasoning, and communication skills, while gaining confidence in their ability to explore and solve problems. These experiences help lay the groundwork for a smooth transition into early learning environments.
